Dear all,

my problem is as follows.
I've a DMR model (package) as data source.
Within Report Studio I've two queries, one prompt query and one result query.

The tree prompt (set as multi-select) gets its entries from the prompt query. The entries are Level-items. Ok, this is the parameter p1.

The result query should now be filtered by the parameter p1.
The data item is defined as 'set(Hierachie.Dim.Level->?p1?)'.
That's the way Cognos describes how to implement a multi-select prompt and filter the result query.

Unfortunately the tree-prompt is single-select after I've entered the filter in the result query.

I would appreciate giving me a hint why that data item definition makes my prompt a single-prompt even if I use the set function.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Quick question - what happens if you remove your tree prompt and its associated query, then change your expression to be:
set([your hierarchy] -> ?p1?)

Do you then get a multi-select tree prompt by default?

MF.

Yes, I haven't mentioned it for simplicity. Sorry.
I'll get a multi-select-prompt if I don't use my prompt. Right.

Sounds like you already have an idea.

Appreciate reading your next answer soon.

Thanks in advance
