Got an old Win98 machine, 200MMX 128MB RAM, I only use it for watching TV.
The second mouse has died and I refuse to spend money or effort locating another serial mouse or adapters etc.

I am fine without a mouse, the problem is that even though no mouse is attached and serial ports are turned off in BIOS, the mouse pointer arrow is always in the middle of the screen.

How do I get rid of the arrow?

Have you checked to be sure that no mouse is installed in the device manager?

Mouse does not appear in Device Manager.

Excellent idea using the keyboard to move the mouse thanks rockerfellerz!
