No More data error

Thanks in advance to anyone who can supply a readon/resolution for this error that I am getting. After the error, the job stops. Although 5 hours later a another job starts and finishes properly. any ideas? Thanks.

Error Message

Storage device "SONY 1" reported an error on a request to space backward by file marks.

Error reported:
No more data is on the tape.

What kind of job were you doing? Was it a restore?

It is a backup job that is ran daily.

I guess it's an append job, right, at least check the protection setting, I have the same error msg, because the protection is set to Append- not alowed
