I have onex installed on a linux box with VMP on a windows 2008 server web edition. I've run the 2012 version of Avayafw.bat on the Windows Server. I can make and receive calls with the mobile app for iPhone, I get notified that there is a new voicemail message and when I click the message, it downloads with no errors and the play progress bar displays along with the play, callback and delete buttons. When I hit the play button, I get nothing and no errors or other messages appear. If I hit the delete button, the message does delete, so there is communication between the VMP and Onex. I have done the trusted extension in source tab fix as well as made sure I had the latest version of the iPhone app. I am running version 8.0.84-220 of onex portal, 8.0(1011) version of VMP and 8.0(42) of IP Office. Does anyone have an idea what I should check for? Thanks

I've had a similar issue on our "Play" system, and haven't had time to circle back and address it.
Same setup - except an XP box for VMP, UC module for One-X.

Couple of quick questions, as I think our issue is the same.

On the 2008 box - do you have IIS installed (sounds like it); and, did you rerun your VMP install if you had to add that role?

Do you have ports 80 and/or 8080 open on the 2008 server for all traffic? I'm not 100% sure, but you'll probably need to make those ports publicly accessible through your FW also in order to get the messages to play.

Lastly - does it work if you use the phone VPN to access your network?

IIS is installed and VMP was installed after. I did however have to install CGI in order to allow web voicemail to show up in the custom install options and did add web voicemail using the modify option in windows installer. I should probably reinstall VMP completely rather than doing a modify.

8080 is open. I'll add 80 as well.

Not sure what you mean by Phone VPN.
Thanks

Update
I uninstalled and reinstalled VMP with web voicemail. I added 80 and 8080 to the firewall rules on our sonicwall router as well as made sure that the windows server firewall is not blocking any ports outbound. Still no audio when pressing play on messages.

Good catch on the CGI - that got me before on the One-X Portal until I remembered about it.

The bad thing is you're about where I am and haven't had time to revisit and test.
On my list is to use the UC for both and see if I get the same result.

VPN - meant to say try your phone on WiFi and see if that works - as a thought, it could rule a few things out, prob will need to add your XMPP IP to your office DNS A records.

that sounds more like the iphone app not playing the game surely? if the file is downloaded to the iPhone, then delivery/ connection etc sounds sweet.
(i'm using Android OneX, but VMPro voicemail to email rather than OneX VM control) will have to give it a whirl see if same (IP500v2 on 8.0.44)
we're using OneX/ VMPro on Linux box combined, although not sure if you're getting dramas there.
Is it just .wav attachment sent out to the iPhone? does phone actually handle .wav on it's own in first place too?

Just ideas, will have to poach the wife's iphone and test ;)

Cheers,

Chris

We had the same thing happening to us even though we are using the UC Module. It turned out that under Configuration > Providers > ID5, which is Default-VMPro-Provider I didn't have our VM Pro server address configured. The App on my droid would let me know I had new messages but couldn't play them back. Click edit from the configuration screen on VMPro provider and then Voicemail Server Assigned and make sure you have the IP of your VM Pro in there. Hope this helps....

Don' forget to save and restart also. The wait the 15 minutes it takes One-X to come back up 8)

Thanks for the ideas, but they've all been tried. Provider IP is correct for VMP in Onex config. I'm not sure of the format in which the message is delivered to the iPhone from the web voicemail application within VMP. I did try to play the message through Web Voicemail on my PC located on the same Lan as the system. I logged in to and got the login splash page. I was able to access my mailbox and the messages showed up but when I hit play, I got the same thing as on my iPhone, no media player opened, no progress bar, no error message and no voicemail messgae played back. It is clearly now an issue with Web Voicemail on my VMP server. I've checked windows firewall and there is nothing being blocked outbound and I've run the avayafw.bat on the server for inbound ports. Catalyst says to uninstall and reinstall everything using the latest release 8.0.46 and related VMP and App server. I guess I'll find out if that helps later today.

Cnesstech -

I have a droid, and am still getting the same results as you are with your iPhone. We're migrating our VMP server later this week or next, and it will be a fresh install. I'll post any results, as I need to get this working too!
