Ihave a BCM 2.5......I have downloaded clients LAN CTE AND PERSONAL CALL MANAGER...DO NOT NEED TAPI BECAUSE THE PC IS RUNNING XP....WHEN I GO TO TOOLS and (dial using), the drop down menu does not display any line numbers on the bcm 2.5...all it displays is h323,winport,lpt1 and so on....any suggestions.

you have to install LAN CTE client even if you are using winxp.

have you configured the user/computer/ip to DN assignment in unified manager?

could you please explain a little further redcomet...much appreciated...where in unified messager will i find this?

go to "services" -> "LAN CTE configuration"
you need to assign DNs to IP, hostname or username there.

example: if you want the PC with hostname "192.168.1.1" to have DN "222" you need to click on "IP address" and add a new value with the IP address and the DN there. if you want to have one PC with more than one DN just comma seperate it. e.g. "222,123,444"

after that reboot the PC with lAN CTE installed and you should see the DN there.

redcomet I took your advice...still no line pickups in the tapi drop down menu..help anyone...

Hi Leprechaun3

Some stupid questions but have to ask

Have you got Lan cte clients (keycode)

Have you checked the service is running

If you are using a dhcp on your network you will have to use the domain name/workgroup username option.

Can you right click on the rocket in the taskbar go to bcm tsp control panel and check that you are connected to the bcm.

When you installed the lan cte client did you use the published ip address of the BCM (default lan 1)

What software are you using to try and dial out with PCM, Outlook,Phone Dialer ?

If you have done all of the above have you tried to reboot the BCM.

I too am having this problem.

I have 4 LAN CTE licenses installed.

Services is up and running...

I assigned my IP address and extension to the LAN CTE configuration.

The rocket says Version: TSP 6.5.3.00.A.0 (Initializing)
I would have to say it is not working.

The public LAN 1 IP address is correct.

I am using the PCM to dial out.

And finally rebooted the BCM. Just a reboot not a shutdown and power up.

I am using Win2K Professional with SP4. Under PCM i am using the TAPI line of h323 line and selected the name (NAM) for the address. Any other suggestions?

Are you trying to connect to the BCM via direct LAN connection? If so, you need to open up some firewall ports if you have them enabled and blocking access to the "published" address. Turn off the firewall (for a moment) and then reboot the workstation. Thats what did it for me.

The BCM LAN 1 ip address has no firewall attached to it. It is directly connected to our switch and also there is not a software firewall installed on the PC. The PC is directly connected to the switch.

These are my settings for the IP addresses.

LAN 1 IP: 192.168.1.25 / 255.255.255.0
LAN 2 IP: Public IP address provided by SBC. Firewall is turned on this LAN adapter.

PC NIC address: 192.168.1.23 / 255.255.255.0

What is the Public IP address of the BCM. I think it is Lan 2 not Lan 1

Have you set the IP telephony to be Lan 2?

Check your gateway under netlink manager

I would check the published IP address under services-----Click on the word IP Telephony and make sure this is set to Lan 1.

The fact that the TSP control panel is saying iniatilising means you are not even getting connected to the BCM.

This has nothing to do with the Lan CTE config. You should get connected even if you have not configured any of your IP address range under the Lan cte tab.

It should say

Version TSP 6.6. 160.a.0 or what ever

Status In service

Switch Type E1 Euro 3.6 or whatever version of BCM/Country
CTI Device MSC

Sorry one last thing have you checked the keycode is in the system under system------licensing-----applied keycodes.

mrmarshall,

My LAN 2 is the current published IP under IP Telephony. The software firewall is enabled to block all incoming except IP phones.

I did release the software firewall for 10 minutes and reloaded the LAN CTE client on my computer. I made sure that I could ping the Pub. IP address and program the BCM on that IP, but the LAN CTE (rocket) was still trying to initialize.

I am going to change the Publish IP address to LAN 1 and perform a shutdown and reboot when I can. I have to do this after hours.

Hi NTL555

If Lan 2 is your published IP address then you need to change the lan to be on your local subnet of Lan 2 or change published IP address to Lan1. You can do this and reboot the system with of lost of voice service providing you are not using IP phones.

You have to point the lan cte client to the published IP address of the system Lan 2 in this instance but if the subnet is different then you will have to make a few changes.

I made the Public IP address to be LAN1 and currently schedule for a reboot after 5pm. Bosses use the voicemail frequently and do not want me to reboot. Will let ya know tomorrow.

MrMarshall..

Changing the Published IP to LAN 1 worked fine for me. I thank you.
