I applied an 8.0 (small) upgrade license to the 500V2 with version 7.05. I thought this would bring me up to speed. The upgrade license showed up valid in Manager. I'm using Manager 10.1 fresh from the new 8.1.67 Administration Suite. I used the upgrade wizard. The Wiz showed that I had 8.0 available for the 500V2 and my a single Combo card, and I let'er upgrade. When done, Manager shows "Software Upgrade 5 (8.0) Obsolete" in Manager. How rude. A digital phone says No License Available. SSA shows "Telephony Services Suspended....License". Monitor Says "Unusable until upgrade license is added." Well heck, I believed that the 8.0 upgrade would cover all "dot releases" for version 8. I studied the ins & outs & threads about this licensing and upgrade stuff, but it's pretty tangled. Maybe I have a different license problem. I did not see an R6 or R7 license to start with.
Essential Edition and Preferred Edition licenses are still valid, although the Upgrade to Professional went obsolete too.
What might be the problem here, besides techies not having a clear path to victory? How can I get this 500v2 all happy?
Please help - thanks much

The release 8.0 licence is for 8.0, 8.1 is a separate licence as it's a major upgrade. Only the number after 8.0 is a minor release i.e 8.0.x :)

Obviously the documentation was thoroughly read through prior to the upgrade. [bomb]
