When a user enters an invalid mailbox number, the system prompts for a password three times and then drops. Is there someway to give a prompt that the caller has entered an invalid mailbox?

No but you can change the it so it will ask again for the mailbox number and password if it is a MM system

Thanks Ken.
It is A MM 3.0 system we are testing. Is it a setting in the MAS somewhere? Documentation is severely lacking.
Thanks for your help.

On any we have it will say invalid logon and ask for the mailbox number again. I have looked in the subscriber tab of the VMD and it is where the password and number of times you can use a old password is but i don't see anything that would cause this. What are you using for a message store?

The way you described it is the same we way I have it. I get "invalid logon, mailbox number please".
Sorry for the confusion. I'm used to Octel that would tell you the number "is not a recognized mailbox".
Guess Mod Mess doesn't do that?

No it does not you must reenter the MB number
