Problem: No inbound DID Calls on 3 of 6 T-1’s in single trunk group. When the three, known working T-1’s are full with traffic, the last three are sitting IDLE and and inbound DID calls are getting busy.
Info: The three T-1’s in question were added to route 4 within the last 10 months by our telecom engineer (that has since quit). Traffic to this site has increased and it’s now apparent that the 3 T-1’s have probably never had any traffic sent on them. All trunks are programmed as DID and are for inbound DID and Megacom, as well as outbound LD.
Tests completed: I had AT&T busy out the three working T-1’s and place test calls to each of the other three. AT&T confirms calls placed to the three in question went through fine.
Loops 2, 19, 22, 3, 21, & 20 are all in the trunk group (route 4)
Loops 2, 19, and 20 are the original 3 and take and place calls normally
Loops 3, 21, and 22 are the three new circuits that are not taking DID calls
Loop 02 contains the Primary D-channel, DCH 2
Loop 19 contains the Backup D-channel, DCH 19

You need to make sure that they are connected in the same order as programmed.... so 2, 19 and 22 are the original, are the next 3 connected to the smart jacks in order?? Check that, sounds like a mismatch to me

PHONZ1,
I didn't think they needed to be in order. This site is in Texas and I'm in Sacramento. I could have my vendor go out and check. I don't understand why my engineer put the three new circuits in the middle.

It doesn't make any difference what loop they are in. they each have a RT and MB number.

Has the CO verified that if all the trunk are busy in the working PRI's that when they call the main number, does the call rollover to the new PRI or did they just make a call to the new PRI manually.

Post a TNB from the new PRI.

PS the phone company controls rhe overflow from 1 PRI to the other not the switch, I think the problem is with the Telco.

no, not in order that way..... ie:

circuit 1 to loop 2
" 2 to loop 19
" 3 to loop 22
" 4 to loop 3
" 5 to loop 21
" 6 to loop 20

the circuits from telco have to be in the same order in the PBX, say the last two are flipped, your first 24 calls would not go thru, the 25th would! They can't be connected in a random order...

THE REASON FOR TODAYS DATE IS THAT I OUTED AND REBUILD ALL THE TRUNKS ON THE THREE THAT ARE NOT TAKING CALLS. NO LUCK.
ACEWARLOCK: I HAD AT&T BUSY OUT THE THREE WORKING T-1S AND PUMP CALLS TO THE REMAINING THREE AND THE CALLS COMPLETED.

I AGREE, I THINK IT'S A TELCO PROBLEM, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PROVE IT.

The loop there in doesn't make any difference, what makes a difference is Member number in the route. and even if they where wrong, that wouldn't cause the problem your having. again if bell isn't overflowing the calls to the new PRI, it will never work.

Does the out bound work or haven't you tried that?

For testing you could take 1 channel out of that route say the last one and setup a new route with that channel in it and see if you can make a call.

have you done a LTM to see if all 6 PRI are in the same route? they won't work out bound unless they are.

LTM does have all 6 in the route.
I forgot to test outbound on the three. I'll test those in a few. I need to set up a test port from Irving to Sacramento and get it done. I'll post outbound test results

I had the issue that I describe one time at 2am, the telco had reversed the last two pri's so the 108 and 109 T1zf circuits were backwards, that caused the same issue that equium is describing

I think I know what you're getting at Phonz1. Call setup and teardown is done by the D-channel. If the D-channel is trying to set up call on certain circuit/channel, and the t1's are not in order, then setup can not occur. Did that make sense? Is that what you mean?

exactly, harder to write it out but that's it, channels HAVE to match 1 for 1 between the telco and the pbx

Thanks Phonz1. I have already requested the lineup from AT&T. I'll keep y'all posted with the results.
