Hi,

After I replaced old SIMM memory with 128mb DIMM, it no longer detects any of the IDE devices.
I removed the 168pin DIMM memory, re-installed the original SIMM and still no joy.
I've checked all the BIOS settings, the IDE cables, the HD and the CD-ROM, they're OK.

I doubt it makes any difference, since everything was working fine before-hand, but just in case.

FIC V 503+ MB
AMD K6-2 366 CPU
8.4GB Quantum HD on primary IDE as master
Generic 40X CD-ROM on secondary IDE as master

Any suggestions?

TIA,

drk

Just because of the location of where you were working to replace the memory you need to pull and inspect the IDE primary cable to make sure that the clamp on the ribbon cable didn't come loose and the cable disconnect. Ed Fair

IF THE SYSTEM SEE THE CD-ROM. SWITCH THE CD-ROM CABLE WITH THE HARDDRIVE CABLE.
