I'm installing an ip500 rel 5.0(18) w/embedded voicemail. I transferred the prompt files using the 5.0 manager embedded file management. I watched as aprox 631 files downloaded. I then changed the voicemail type in manager to embedded vm. Sent the config successfully....then cold started the system by powering off/on.

It seems to work except I don't get the help menu when dialing *4...any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Jerry

perhaps the files didnt upload?

I tend to use the batch file found on the manager cd / install files. seems to work every time.

Yeah I hear you but I'm seeing the files on the card ( I think)...I just tested the dial by name and I'm not hearing that promp either. If I were to download the files again using tftp would they over write what's there or add to what's there?

Run a monitor trace with the relevant filters checked and see what that says :)

I did and I don't see any error display "file clips missing"

Im just wondering if I send them again using TFTP "send711" "transfer all files" would that over write whatever is there now.

Just use the Manager;

File > Upload Voicemail files.

Of course you need to be in Embedded File Management.

File > Advanced > Embedded File Management

That's the first thing I did (using the embedded file management tool)...then I did some testing and found the help menu doesn't play or the prompting for the new dial by name....

If I were to use the send711 using tftp method would the exitsting embedded files be over written?

Now I remember I think it's a bug in 5.0.18, seen it a week or two ago. Try to wait longer, 10 sec or so or press a *

Ng...waited after hearing no new messg...dialed *4 and nothing but dead air...not getting any prompting with the dial by name feat either that's why I thought I would try to load the prompts again using tftp...when I try loading them again using the manager tool I get "Upload not required

Don't think that will help, you could try to install the older version of the Manager 5.0.8 or 5.0.15 and then just upload the voicemail files.
