I have had Office-2000 Premium running quite happily for about a year now, but recently Word has lost its connection with the system Fonts.
Opening Word for a new document: it shows Times New Roman as the default font; but clicking on the font dropdown listbox, shows only Roman 10cpi (not even Times New Roman anymore!).. and any typing comes out in Courier!
Documents created previously with other fonts display with apparently random fonts and sizes (so other fonts do manage to come out, but not as and where expected) .. but mostly everything is reduced to Courier.
Excel has no problem, offering and displaying all the fonts without hassle.
I have tried ..
1. Un-installing Office, and re-installing it.
2. Un-installing Windows Explorer (v5.5) and re-installing it. (as this was the only substantial change made recently).
I also ran Regclean before re-installing any of the above.
The only thing left that I can think of is to uninstall some Freecom CD-RW drivers and the Adaptec software that came with a new (Freecom Traveller) CD-writer. But this seems like such a remote possibility, I feel like I'm clutching at straws.
Any ideas .. please??
