We have recently installed a second Exchange 2000 server at our remote site and have moved some of the mailboxes belonging to the users on that site from our local Exchange server to the new remote server. Mail is flowing from us to them (and vice versa) over Routing Group connectors utilising a 512k VPN link between the 2 sites.
We have noticed today that if a user on our local Exchange server sends a file attachment to a user on the remote Exchange server, the attachment is stripped from the e-mail with no clue that there ever was a file attachment, and vice versa.
There are no restrictions on the Routing group connectors apart from a size restriction of 2MB. These mails, including attachments, are nowhere near this size.
Is these something we're missing in the config, either on the Routing Group connectors or on the SMTP Virtual server settings?
Mails between users on the same mail server have no problems sending attachments, and we do not have the security patch for Outlook that would strip these attachments from the e-mail.
Any ideas?
Penny
