No External Release Error

I have the no external release error on one of my 100D modules (permanent). It happens at the same port number. It reports the error on the 100D as well as the 012 Module. I'm not sure, but I think this ties into the issue where some analog extensions in the office will ring for no apparent reason. I've had to disconnect the extensions to stop the ringing. I performed module demand tests, and CSU/DSU loop back test and get no problems. Can anyone give me some hints or troubleshooting steps they would take for this issue?

Any help is appreciated.

TIE PBX

Not all channels on the CSU are in use.

Sorry if I'm not communicating properly. I'm not very knowledgeable on this equipment.

Oh.. one more thing. Channels 1-10 are on then it skips channel 11 for some reason and then 12,13 are on. I noticed on one of my print outs that I have a a truck assigned to port 11. Is this port 11 being assigned my issue? If so how would I remove this trunk TIE?

This could very well be the trouble.

Under Lines/Trunks GS-LS DS1 - set that port as unequipped, then see if the problem goes away.

Of course, "DROP" all errors (Perm & Transient) as well.

Thanks for the help. I've unequipped that channel. It appears that may fix the no external release error, but I think my module 12 is bad. I keep getting the following:

Command Buffer Full
Test Status Register Bad
Sanity INT Not Generated
Invalid Sanity Response

I ran a repetitive loopback test and got failed message:
DSE1 Failed

Is it time to buy a new module? I don't have a spare to test with.

Thank you.

Before I do that I would go into maintenance, busy it out, reset it, and then restore it and see if that makes a difference.

I reset the board many times to no avail. Did a warm reset on the whole system, and still get the ringing, plus the four transient error messages And the errors accumulate a lot of counts really fast. Have not received the no external release error again though.

Does busying out stop the ringing?

Also, you said it happens on ONE of your 100D's - have you tried swapping them around to see if the trouble follows the module or the slot?

Well, the external release was the error happening on the 100D. Not the four almost continuous errors that I get on module 012. So far no errors on the 100D anymore. So I've elminated that as the problem. The module is a 012 w/ ring gen. If I busy out the module it does stop the ringing, or if I reset the module. It starts up again once I restore it.

OK, Do a PRINT ALL and email it to me.

I am certain this is a programming issue.

Please let me know what extensions are ringing as well.

I'm going to try another module and see what happens. If I don't have any luck I may just let you look at the programming.

Thanks
