Hello,

We're having some performance issues with our Exchange server and I'm trying to monitor the "MSexchangeIS" performance object in perfmon, but there is one huge problem -it's not there. Any idea why this would be? I thought that during the installation of Exchange it would have added this performance object.

Do you have the correct computer specified in your perfmon? When Exch is installed, the counters are also added. Worst case you may have to repair your exchange installation.

Thanks for replying! Yes, I'm looking at the right server, but the counters are nowhere to be found. Another thing to note is several "0"s listed as counters. Can you point in the right direction for documentation on doing a repair? We're running Exchange 2k.

Thank you,

Jay

Take a full backup of Exchange. Run the Setup application from the Exchange CD. Choose repair when you get to the installation choices screen. After repair has been done, reinstall the current service pack.
