HP Vectra VL400 with Matrox Milennium G450 (only one monitor), Win 2K

DVD worked fine until one day I downloaded new video drivers offered at Windows Update site. Since then, DVD won't start, giving error message such as "Unknown Format." Have tried various DVD playing software. Can view files in File Manager and double-click and get audio only, very shaky. Same with opening with Windows Media Player. Not sure if I can undo the driver update or how I would. I've uninstalled from Control Panel and installed latest driver download from Matrox, but problem persists (no change noticed), as there must be some change from the Windows Update download that this process doesn't undo. Would like to avoid restoring whole system from the HP disk if possible. Any suggestions? TIA

If you have the dvd disk try reinstalling over previous install, also try start-run-type in regedit-click hkey_current user, click software to see if the downloaded drivers are there,if so delete and try start-find folders-type in name of downloded driver and delete.Be carefull,if it ain't broke don't fix it.
