Our system took a power hit last night and although I have got the server up no one can login to the system from their PC. The TCP/IP address was changed somehow. I switched it back to 192.168.1.50 for the internal gateway service. DHCP is handing out ip addresses OK and we can get to the internet but yet we can't login to the server. Any suggestions on this? Exchange is loaded on this server and people can get to their e-mail OK but can't access their home directories or shared directories on the server. Weird.

Thanks,

Gary

Sorry, I forgot this. The server is Windows 2000 running on a Dell P4 2.4ghz with 512mb RAM.

This might not be a server issue. You might need to reload your switch config, as that may have been zapped.

Well it turns out that this impacted DHCP and WINS configurations. I removed both and reinstalled dhcp with the same scope and wins. It seems to be working now.

Thanks,

Gary
