Hi, my issue seems to be a replica of the thread798-1527040.

Two sets on two ports of the same NT5K02QB work fine until a new message is left for them. When a new message is left they get no dial tone until the message is read - they log in from another phone listen to their message and dial tone returns. In all other respects the phones work fine.

System is a release 3. 61C on CP-PII with CP 201i on release 2.02 (I know it's old!)

I have deleted the CallPilot mailbox and rebuilt without fixing. I have also verified that another port on the same card works OK when it has a message left.

All phones are MWA and LPD and are of the same type.

I am prepared to think it might be a couple of bad ports but before I set out on a long journey I thought I'd see if anyone else had seen this issue and knew if it might be software related?

Thanks.

LPD would mean that it is going to try to use message waiting dial tone instead of a lamp. If you change it to LPA, do they get normal dial tone? If yes, then I would start by looking at how your message waiting dial tone is configured.

From your description of the problem it has to be the card. Other users programmed the same on the same card that work fine? Gotta be the card. That's a weird one though.

Thanks for the replies - LPD is set on the two bad phones as it is on the other phones that work OK.

I'll start with a card change - though I agree never seen one like this before.

So it's not the FALC. Seems to be a little more widespread than first thought/reported.

If a analogue phone on 4-0 gets a new message when it goes off hook the phone send a digit '3' instantly so what looks like no dial tone is just a pause while the system waits for the next digits.

Very strange indeed.

Let's check your LD56 FTC. Below are the "default" MWDT (Message Waiting Dial Tone) values for USA based systems. Print yours out and note the values - if different than mine below, try using mine to see if your system changes.
