Hello Everyone
I´m unsing arcserve 7 on nw5.1sp5.
I´ve installed a test system to learn arcserve a little bit but I´ve run into a problem. I´m using an old external scsi connor tape recorder. I can access the drive from the nw console and for example format a tape. But when I start the arcserve manager and "quick access/device manager". It just reports "Tape engine not started" (or was it "tape engine stopped"). I know I´m supposed to get for example "<0>board0" but I don´t ;(
Does anyone know how to get this sorted ?

Hi,

I presume you have restarted Arcserve a few times to try and get going. I find bringing the tape device online first then Arcserve tends to help (although my configuration is different from yours).

I would also suggest make sure you are fully patched up from
There is a tape device patch at
Hope this helps.
