We're running Progression 7.6.300a -SQL. when we run a gl trial balance report for August we get no debits or credits in any accounts. I'm not sure what I should be looking for, but when I queried gltrxfil_sql and gltrxhst_fil I found no transactions for August. they are there for July and September. any thoughts as to how this could happen.

Silly question, but did you actually post any transactions for the time frame in question? This happens under GL, Processes, Post from subledger.

The gltrxfil_sql only holds unposted transactions, and depending upon your GL setup could never hold any IM, AR, AP, etc. transactions, only manual journal entries.

Thanks for your help. Your question wasn't so silly after all as that's exactly what had happened. we're new to the process and had been posting invoices daily, but forgot that process you mentioned.
Do you what process moves them from gltrxfil_sql into gltrxhst_sql.
Thanks again.

To post these entries, go to GL, Trx, General Journal, Post transactions.

However as soon as you do this, immediately go to GL setup and change the flag there "interface to GL journal trx file" checkbox is NOT checked.

The purpose of this checkbox is to write unposted entries to the GLTRXFIL_SQL table, rather than actually posting the entries, thus adding an additional step to the process. When you change this flag, the intface takes the entries directly to the GLTRXHST_SQL table.

Secondly, if this flag is checked, it disables the drilldown features of Macola GL inquiries. The theory behind this is that you could manually edit the unposted entries, therefore the drilldown would not be accurate.
