Hi,

Recently, some staff have reported that when they call internationally from the UK, the +44 country code is not being presented to the end user.
As we are in outer London, the number presented is 0020 which then makes it look like the calls coming from Egypt (code +20).
Is this something that is set in the IP500 or is this down to the carrier?

Thanks

It shouldn't show the country code for national calls if configured correctly.

ISDN or SIP trunks?

Have you entered a prefix on the Line? This doesn't apply if your calling external customers.

You might be sending the number wrong but your carrier shouldn't allow it.

Do a monitor trace of an outgoing call.

All ISDN, no prefix set only international prefix 00

Usually national prefix should be set as well, but do a trace. It will show what you're sending to the service provider.

sip or ISDN?
sip has a setting for country code as well as prefix for national & international calls

if they are set correctly then it is a carrier issue, they will no doubt tell you that CLI is not guaranteed to be transferred correctly across all networks

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Hmmm funny.

Is the provider by any chance Vodafone?
I'm working in the netherlands and a collegue had a call from a customer with the exact same problem. (Although they are on a Cisco Communication manager).
We did some research and in our case we suspect that provider (Vodafone) is messingup the display format.

Provider is alternative networks, carrier BT...

Seems like you wont do a trace, I assume this is a lottery and we're supposed to guess then.

I best bet is that your sending CLI with starting 0 in national format which makes the service provider add another 0, try removing the first 0 in the outgoing number.
