no connection GPS receiver TomTom navigator

We switched our Ipaq 36xx with an Ipaq 4150. Also we have a new TomTom cable specialy for the 4150.
But we have still never made contact with the GPS receiver.

What can cause the problem?

You might check to see if you need any driver updates for the WM2003 OS on the iPaq.

Some questions:
What software are you using to comunicate with the GPS?
Are you sure you've got the latest version?
What type/make of GPS?
What operating system?

can anyone tell me if windows mobile 5 is same as windows ce and if there is a tomtom software for windows ce.
