We have a miran card on opt81c with four msg running all ok . I want now to install music file, i connect a terminal to minidin on card face but i have no reply. I change the cable, shutdown miran, nothing. How can i connect to miran ??? Thanks !!

that din and the db9 on the rear of the card are both the same serial port, 8 none one and 9600, a return gets a login screen. are you using the cable that nortel sends with the card? it's not wired the same as an off the shelf din to db9

It happened to me last week, what i did is i plug the din cable to the card(to my pc ) and took the card out and reseated it.

I used the nortel cable. I tried to connect pc on mdf but don't work. I think there is something faulty on hardware board (port rs2329 thank you !!!

on mdf" ? remove the 25 pair cable on the backplane of the switch and put the addapter on that, or connect the cable to the din on the front. a miran needs no mdf connection

Osvacar, what do you see on your screen when you are connected on the front of the card with the din cable ?

Do you get numerous dots like that ..........

Or u have nothing ?

john ! I already tried to connect the rear nortel cable to backplane but same result NOTHING appear on pc screen ! I read on miran II manual is possible to connect a terminal to 25 pair cable, so i do that tx rx dtr & gnd. You have to know that i already worked on that board loading files with same front cable and same pc card same month ago ok. thanks !!

i do remember the 1st miran i installed had optional connections to the mdf. that is parallel to the two on the card.. if the front or back comm ports are dead, you may need a new card.. have you tried http to that card?
