no beep or post

new system i had it running and shut it off. now no beep on post or post screen . gigabyte ga7vaxp m.b 512 333ddr mmem,128 vidio card,80 g hhd,windows xp,400 watt ps. any answers?
 
do the fans start up? if so just push ur cards into there slots to make sure they are seated properly,
 
thanks, but i isolated the board with no cards except the vidio card. i even changed the vidio card no help. i have a strong feeling that the ram went south on me.
 
This has happened to us a few times and the first check is the VGA card (as you have done) but if your sure about the PSU then it is normally a faulty Processor that causes this lack of POST and screen activity.

Probably not what you wanted to hear...hope this helps
 
Same problem on one of the systems here at the school. Just as you did I pulled all cards except video and tried to boot. It failed. No system fans, keyboard was plugged in (some systems require that now), and changing RAM fixed the problem. I think you are on the right track suspecting RAM. Change that out first and see what happens.
