Please help me, it'll be really appreciated. I know hardly anything about computers, i'm 15 and the only thing i do is web design. Anyway, a few weeks ago my internet wasn't working properly, i had problems signing in on websites etc. This might not be anything but...You never know. My pc got really annoying so i decided to shut down, only to recieve an error, which kept popping up about other users being signed on windows xp, even though they were signed off. So without thinking i switched the pc off, and a disc was in the drive as i did it. Since then whenever i switch on the pc i only have the fans working and a green light with a symbol of a lightbulb and a red light with a symbol of a battery lights up. I have no beeps, no picture on my monitor and not even my keyboard comes on. I have studied a little on pcs and wondered if this could be my MotherBoard, my motherboard is p2b-vm agp if this helps?
Please get back to me soon, thank you!

It could be a range of things from motherboard, CPU, power supply and possibly Ram. how old is your computer? Mine conked out, came back on 3 days later, conked out again a month later, same thing came back on again itself and then conked out again after 2 weeks, then again recovered. I then went into the power supply box and cleaned it out using a long bristle paint brush, it was full of dust. I had what you had but it would beep on shutdown sometimes. Cleaned all the dust out of everywhere and it's been fine since. However, your problem could be hardware related, anything to do with the above. Hope this helps.

Have you put the "disk" back in and tried? The computer may be looking for an association to the said disk.

Hello, thanks for the suggestions, i will give your suggestions a go and update. My pc is three or four years old. My pc does has new problem at the start of every year i swear!

I'm useless, someone help me! I'm blonde, what's your excuse?

2 things to try are 1. reseat your memory. Sometimes "chip creep" causes the memory modules to lose contact and a reseat helps to restore it. 2. remove and reseat your video card. This too can suffer from bad contacts especilly AGP cards. Either one of these 2 things will cause the symptoms you mention.

If either of these 2 don't work, I would then check the power supply. Make sure that the voltage outputs are correct. You may need to get outside help to do this but it will be well worth it. Power supplies are one of the weakest links in the PC's makeup. These suggestions are straight from the A+ troubleshooting guide.

Is your computer still having this problem?
You could disconnect all your data cable and power cords from your Hard Drive, floppy, CD-Rom, one by one, to reset them. Check the RAM. Check the power supply as well. Make sure the wires on the motherboard are all set in correctly.
See what happens!!
