Hey Guys
We have a IP500 v6.0 connected via the LAN1 port (192.168.10.1) to a HP Pocurve Switch - Tagged port – VLAN10. (Switch ip = 192.168.10.254)
DHCP is provided via a Small Business Server 2k3 virtual box. ( 10.0.0.1).
Internet Information Server and Voicemail Pro v6.0 are all running on a virtual Windows 2008 box. (192.168.10.32) Same subnet as the IP500...
All the phones are brand new 1608 and 1616 models.
We have installed the Admin CD v6.0 on the Windows 2008 virtual box and can run Manager, System Status and Monitor without issue..... All good so far ?
When we plug a phone in on any of the Untagged switches we see the phone search for a DHCP server on the sub net 10.0.0.x. It receives the VLAN information and reboots. It then acquires all the correct IP information on the correct sub net 192.168.10.x.... It finds the new bin files on the root of IIs web server and upgrades the phones to the correct firmware version ha1608au1_2200.bin or ha1616au1_2200.bin depending on the model. It then finally comes to rest waiting for us to select the extension number... We thought we were really cooking at this point... ?
We have 36 Avaya IP Endpoint licences installed and we have created about 40 users and associated H323 extensions. The extensions start at 700 and work their way up to 791.
( There are obviously gaps in the numbering.)
Anyway, we logon to one phone using extension 700. The logon works fine. We have dial tone and no error messages. We then logoff the same phone and try to logon using extension 737. We now get told “No Available Licence” and the phone has no dial tone....????
This is the only phone connected to the network too...!
Tried the same exercise with another phone, same result...?
Tried several logons with the lower extension range and got up to extension 727 without any errors. Try past extension 727 and we get “No Available Licence”
What gives....????
I would have assumed we would need to have 36 phones connected before any licence issue raised its ugly head...?
Any thoughts most welcome
Cheers
Mike
