never seen this before.
Voice Mail is acting funny.
when AA answers and the greeting plays, the can messages do not play such as when you hit the # key for company directory. you do not hear voice mail betty come on and instruct the caller to dial by name, but if you know what to do, you can dial the partys name and it works like it is suppose to, just no audio instructing the caller what to do after pressing the # key for the company directory.

also when you open a mailbox there are not any can messages playing such as voice mail betty saying enter your password followed by the # key or to delete message or save message and so forth. if you go ahead and enter your password, you can listen to messages but still no audio for saveing, deleting, forwarding messages.

i've tried restarting voice mail services, no luck
i've done a complete shut down, no luck

anybody ever seen this before?

I don't know about anyone else, but I would do a backup of that system right now. Your hard drive might be on the way out.

Then I would try re-recording those greetings.

The AA might be playing a customized recording that has not been recorded. There is a check box in the AA table for Enable Custom Auto Attendant Prompts. If it is checked then you will not here "voice mail Betty" but rather the customized recording (if recorded).
As for the second issue, check that the mailbox in question is not an information mailbox. Not sure what else...strange

these voice prompts that are "voice mail Betty" are not recordable. i undersdtand what you are saying Phonetech9774. i don't think that is the issue, b/c after the # key is pressed in AA for company directory "voice Mail Betty" is suppose to come on giving instruction on what do.

everything is system wide not just one mailbox.

If all else fails you may try to REINSTALL the call pilot.

Press feature 982--operator password-9-reinstall.
This will erase all call pilot to factory first use.

I have the same problem on one of my bcm400's and it can only be fixed by Nortel direct. The hard drive is fine, patches won't fix it. I found that info on the Nortel website.
