I am trying to upgrade SCO 5.0.5 to SCO 5.0.6 and am getting the message

"No active Unix partition, cannot determine the root file system location"

If I take the floppy and cd for the upgrade out of the machine, it boots fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What type of hardware is in this system, especially the hard disk system.. sounds like you may need a BTLD for the install disk to 'see' the disk controller and disk.

The hardware is PCIDA, we have tried to get the BTLD on floppy but it won't fit. We will keep trying. Thanks.

How are you trying to put it on the floppy? Most I've seen require something like rawwrite or equivalent to transfer it.
