Hi,

I'm running BE 8.6 on W2k Server, SP3.
I wanted to backup the systemstate but in the log it is said that only administrators can backup the systemstate.
Everything else worked fine with the system volume.

Where can I configure the account to backup the system state?
I thought it was just possible to configure accounts for remote jobs.

Thanks in advance

Hi again,

somthing to add:

The Backup Exec 8.x Server Service is run by the local system account.
In Veritas support document ID 243033 it is said that this account can backup the system state of the local media server and that's what I want to do.
But it doesn' work...

Any ideas?

I believe you can only truly backup system state if Backup Exec is running on the same server as the one you wish to back up. If you're trying to do this to a remote server Veritas state that it doesn't work properly. In order to do this, you must make sure that the local backup exec user account is in the administrators group - then it should work.

Normally BE should be able to backup the system state, also with the "local system account". But try to start the BE Remote Agent Service with the Backup Exec User Account (Or another User which has enough Admin-Rights).
