OK this is for you Netware 5.1 gurus out there. I am killing myself because Novell had made some changes that differ from 5.0. In our test environment, we have 3 5.1 servers, 1 - 5.0 server and 1 - 4.11 server.

The 4.11 server is running service pack 8a with NLS installed
The 5.0 server has service pack 4 installed with NLS
The 5.1 servers have service pack 1 installed with NLS

Problem: Only one server in the NDS tree has the NLS_LSP displaying in the NDS tree. Now when I go to my production tree, all my 4.11 servers have corresponding NLS_LSP server objects in NWAdmin.

Question: Is this object suppose to exist on every server in the tree. The NLMLSP.NLM is loaded on all servers. Novell's online documentation does not give much detail on correcting this or whether or not it really is a problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should see one nls_lsp for each server you have upgraded with licensing services. My guess is that you
have a problem with NDS.

One thing I have found essential is to have a 5.1 server as the primary NDS partition and to run Dsrepair repeatedly on it before installing the NLS update on 4.x machines in that tree.

Some of the licensing issues with adding 5.x servers to 4.x trees seems to apply. There are some technotes that review the dstrace commands to verify correct incorporation. [sig][/sig]

Actually I had to run the nlslsp.nlm on the servers and the object appeared. Imagine that, something as easy as this and it took me a day to figure it out...

Thanks for the help

iin order for mine to work 1 4.11 1 5 and 1 5.11 i have to have slpda running at all times on my 5 boxes

Have you tried installing SP6a for netware 5.0? It is suppose to resolve some licensing issues if you find that the 5.0 servers are giving you trouble.
