hi was testing out nlite and for fun was removing programs such as calculator and paint on the components page.

"select components you want to remove /../ while compatibility options preserve your chosen features"

ok as i said i ticked a few boxes now the calulator, games tick boxes dont exist under applications any more, im sure they were there.

How do i get them back?
Even though it says Total 544 and 57 hidden, how to reactivate hidden ones.

Sounds like you may have to re-install Windows from a proper XP CD to restore removed components, or possibly create a new Nlite CD from the original XP CD and amend your removal choices? I am not familiar with your program but there is a Nlite forum that may be able to help you.

You may be able to extract the Game and Calculator files from the original XP CD and install them via that?

yes you are right as well, it seems when you click remove it actually does remove the components from the i386 folder.

i wish they could make it more clear, as i thought it was a toggle of a switch.

Sorry but you have to remember that the idea of the software is to make it into a smaller install routine, it makes sense that it's going to remove the content rather than simply not install it.

I have to say that both Nlite and Vlite do exactly what they are supposed to from a system builder point of view, however as an end user who wants to remove already installed components you may want instead.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.
