nis problem,

I setup s ypserver and client with two Soalris 2.7 on
Sparc,
ypcat passwd, ypcat hosts,ypwhich can work, but
I can login in the client box with a NIS user,
what I did follow the document strickly,
any suggestion ?

Tell me on the client side did u check for the nsswitch.conf file.It should contain

hosts nis files dns (Something similar to this).

By the way i found out that the client installation binds to the server properly if u can identify the system uses name service at the time of initial installation.

What r the clients runninng at ur place if its not critical enough and if u can spare time i'd advice u to do the sys-unconfig so that this time it asks for the name service and u can give the name of ur nis server.

Another question is that,
The nis server, I also let it work as a nis client,
a NIS server won't work corectly if it be nis client also,
Is this true ?


How disable a nis client in a NIS server
without sys-unconfig ?
