NIS and ksh problem

We have a strange problem with our NIS setup. Users with csh or sh can login to remote servers ok, but for users with ksh, the login hangs.

Similarly if you login with a csh or sh and then try to run a ksh, it also hangs.

The problem only occurs on Compac/Tru64 or SGI/Irix servers. It works ok on Sun Solaris.

Perhaps the ksh binary is on a nfs mounted directory. If so and the PATH points to this firts it is probably a sun binary. Thus when you try to login to the compac server it cant run the sun binary file?
