We have our nim server on a P5 server, running aix 6.1 tl3. I have NIM setup to host mksysb images of hosts running different oslevels - 5.3tl5, 5.3tl7, 5.3 tl12, 6.1 tl3
When I set nim to host out a mksysb image using any one of these mksysb images to a new lpar on our P5, the lpar boots up successfully and installs from the mksysb images
But on our P7, the lpars only successfully boot up off the aix 5.3tl12 or 6.1 tl3 image. Using the 5.3 TL5 image it loads off the nfs tftpboot share, but it stop (w/o error) responding at the "starting kernel" part.
With the 5.3 TL7 image, the lpar crashes w/ a B700F120 error when it first sees the nim nfs tftboot share.
I am running VIO 2.2fp24 on the P7 and vio 2.1 on the P5's
Does the P7 (or vio version) only allow particular TL levels ?
