NIM - all define ops fail

0042-001 nim: processing error encountered on "master":
   0042-053 m_mkbosi: there is no NIM object named "xxxxxxx_mksysb"

Any attempt to define an object [of any type not just mksysb] served by master gives the above error. There is no NIM object "xxxxxxx_mksysb", however an lsnim -l master shows that it thinks that it is still serving it:

  serves              = boot
   serves              = nim_script
   serves              = xxxxxxx_mksysb
   master_port         = 1058
<cut>

Since I can't re-define the missing object I need some way of getting rid of the entry from master.

Restoring from my NIM database backup is not an option as the last backup was yesterday and the problem seems to have started on Monday. :-(

Have you checked the nimsh daemon?

lssrc -s nimsh

Maybe the process is down! If so start it with startsrc -s nimsh.

Other possibility is the network! Can you ping outside the box?

And check the file systems for any full filesystem which was not noticed!

Permission of the nim sources (directory that contains the resources) could be another problem!

Yes I know how to use the system resource controller.
Yes nimsh is up (and yes I'm using nimsh!)
Yes the world is available over the network.
Yes there are no full filesystems.
Yes the box is powered on.
Yes the sky is blue (well above the clouds it is).

The question is how to get rid of the erroneous 'serves' entry that master is hanging on to.

Sometimes the problem is very trivial that you can't imagine after solving it that you missed that small part!
