Installing an IP403 v1.4 today which i could not for the life of me upgrade to v2.0.
Had to default via AT commands to suck back 1.4 bin files.
This only worked after what seemed like 100 goes.
In the end it did upgrade to v2.0 (Yes via 1.99)but I was still unsure why, so I put back 1.4 and tried again with no luck.
I am now staying with 1.4
(Never had this problem in the past)

Any Ideas as I wouldn't want this to happen on a live site.

The system still just does not want to go higher than 1.4.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The only times I have had problems with any upgrades the fault has been due to additional software on my PC interfearing with the TFTP trafic

Symantecs VPN client can cause this & personal firewalls can also be a problem.

I had this problem where 1.4 (27) did not want to upgrade to 2.0. I when down to 1.4 (25) and then worked fine.

However this may of been a one off.
Another site I had to use the DTE port to take the 1.99 in first, then use the manager to take in 2.0.

Probley some thing to do with your PC, I bet if you Installed 2.0 Manager on a clean XP build it would work first time. I do understand what you are saying however, it does seem you do get some IPO's that are just having a bad day and dont upgrade until you try from another PC.

Generally the upgrade works OK, but sometimes you also get unit that will fail the upgrade for no reason. I have upgraded many IPO's some just seem to crack the Sh&^s for no reason

Rule of Thumb allways carry both types DTE cable !!!!!

I have only had this happen once. Make sure you have a static IP address on the PC you are performing the upgrade from.

When I said it did not upgrade what actually happened was
As follows:
1.The upgrade wizard said upgrade successful
2.System shows as using v2.0 from handset and manager

Now comes the crunch, all seems ok but the TFTP log
Said Failed to send 0 bytes of 0 not 10,20,30% sent etc.

Any Ideas or did it upgrade and i can ignore this message?

It's fine. I get that all the time. Do you have any trouble making changes on it now?

No. It seems fine i just didn't like the message i got from the TFTP log which indicates a failure.

Yeah, that gave me pause the first time I got it too. Don't sweat it, all is well.
