Customer has part time employees that work at th esame desk as the full time agents. These PT employees need their own MB but need to have these exts. transferred to them while they work at night and then take messages during the day.

I was going to set up virtual MB exts. in the 300 series then when the nigh employees come in have them CF these virtual exts. to exts. with telesets connect to them.

The question is can this be done if they do not have an ext. to program CF from can they program these virtual exts. and CF them from other Exts. for example. Can ext. 201 ( real ext. set ) CF ext. 301 ( virtual ext. ) for that virtual ext.? Lets say we want to CF virtual 301 to real ext. 222?

you could set up a hunt group with the DN of the mailbox you are talking about having for the Part Timer have the member of the group as the station to be used and overflow to VM. use a unique ring so daytime employee dosen't answer or just train the employees to not answer calls that are appearing on the hunt group button.

cannot have the mwi on the phone (sorry)

could also use ASM/ATA for dummy ext that would work as answer dn's on daytime phones..have Answer dn/ata fna 3 rings to vm ..have digital set fna 4 rings to vm

COuld I not just create a MVB without installing an actual telephone set?

What they want to do is have these exts used during the day to jsut take messages and then when the part time agents come on at night they want these exts. forwarded to the full time agents desk phone. It is a matter of limited space and expense.

The part time agents do not have desks of their own.

Can exts. be forwarded from any phone to any phone. For example can the recp. phone control other exts. features i.e. CF from her set. They tried to CF by pressing their CF button but it seems to only want to CF that ext.. Is a variable CF feature code available that would allow any set to forward any set?

No call forward no answer or call forward busy are not variables that can be set by the user.

call forward to vm F984 will allow the set to be forwarded to VM on 0 rings.

call forware F4 will allow the set to be forwarded to any DN or (if later than 4.1 software) outside number.

Check out: faq799-3640

this has some options for virtual mailboxes.

FOr example within Partner when entereing the Forward Feature button it says FORWARD: TO

Partner allows the recp. set at ext-10 and 11 to forward any ext. to any ext.

Can this be done within MICS. See since there is no actual set how would they CF these virtual ext numbers to other numbers or can they only do this when by accessign their voice mail?

NO. forwarding of one extension by another extension is not available.

Even if the Recp. does it? If this is the case then must a physical ext. telephone set exist in order to call forward one ext. to another?

Can this be done thru the users voice mail?

OK lets try this:
If I was to do this for a customer I would assign a phone to the desk (callit 222) and next create mailboxes (234 for joe and 235 for jim) next create two hunt groups (assign DN's of 234 for joe and 235 for jim) assign ext 222 as a member of each hunt group (appear and ring) assign the voicemail extension as the overflow for each hunt group. set the timeout queue to 15 sec. now when you want to talk to joe dial 235 the hunt group will send the call to ext 222 and ring the 235 hunt group button. If joe is there and sees that the call is on the 235 button (jims) then he just dosen't answer it and it will timeout in 15 sec to voicemail 235. if joe is there he just has to answer the call. for incoming calls have the receptionist transfer them to 234 or 235 as needed. In AA set the path for "press 1 for joe or 2 for jim" to transfer to 234 and 235 as needed.

the downside of this is that you don't have MWI for the VM.

really,

could also do most of above and set a switch to swap between two ext ports. still would need the hunt groups or calls would never forward.
