I believe I have a simple Night Service question.

Equipment:
Partner R7.0
Messaging PC card 3.0 large

Customer wants to use Night Service when they don't want the phones to ring and go directly to VM box 1 at ext 10.

Currently when they turn on Night Service on at ext 10, the line rings once, plays the VM box 0 recording and tells the customer to press "0" to be transferred to the receptionist mail box (which is ext 10 mail box 1) the caller presses "0" and the call is transferred vm box 1. *** Problem starts hear *** the call IS transferred to ext 10... but it rings 5 times before the receptionist mail box answers... How can I make the call directly transferred into mailbox 10 after caller presses "0" with out ringing ext 10 five times? During the day (night service off) they want the phones to ring 4-5 times and then ext 10 VM to cover, which works fine.

So I guess what I'm looking for is a "direct VM transfer" from the night service recording.

Thanks for any help

With that current set up you would have to program a DND button on ext 10 and have them push that as well as the night service button.

Or you could have line ownership of your lines to extension 10 and have the calls go right to ext 10's but that would eliminate your AA alltogether and you would still have to either have a DND or voicemail cover button.

Thanks 1043

I guess I'll check to see if the cust is going to ever want to use selector codes.. if not... I'll just give ext 10 line ownership of the lines, and reprogram the Night Service btn to be a VM cover btn.

If they want selector codes, I'll have them press two btns (Night service and VM cover) at ext 10.

Thanks.

If you go with having Ext. 10 cover the lines throughg#208-LL-10, then just give 10 Auto VMS cover (#310), enough VMS cover rings to allow answering live (#321) and add a DND button to 10. In DND, mailbox 10 will answer immediately, no DND, it's the VMS cover rings.

Thanks TTT, that's exactly what I did, but I forgot to take the lines out of AA (Night Service)... so I had to do a little trouble shooting before I figured it out.

Thanks all...
