I inherited a customer with a cics that has a goofy set-up. There are three toggle switches that when thrown busy out the first two lines and then direct the third line, when rolled over to, to an answering machine (no call pilot). The switches are old and are giving static on the lines during normal operation. I want to cut out the toggle switches and set up a manual night service button that will direct the lines to the internal ata which I will then cross- connect to the answering machine and not ring any of the sets. Do I need to assign these lines to the ata ext. and if so will it pick up all the time? I only need it to answer when in night service. Any input would be appreciated.
