I'm in a parish environment. Have a Nortel system WITHOUT voicemail. During the day I wish to have numerous phones ring throughout the facility ... but, at night, I wish only to have the phones in two rooms ring. How is this best accomplished? Perhaps using Night Ringing in reverse ... allowing additional phones to ring during the day (when night service is active) and disabling the other ringing phones at night (when the night service is deactivated). Is this realistic? If so, how is it best accomplished. OR, are there other options available?
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance!

Try this:
If you have an MICS 4.1 or CICS 4.0 you can set up hunt groups for the day mode, and the night service for night mode with automatic or manual switch over. Software releases before that can do Incoming Line Groups (ILGs) instead, it's different programming. Which version do you have?
For MICS 4.1 go to System Programming - Show - Hunt groups - SHOW - HG1 - SHOW - Add Members (add all extension in here). When all member are added, do NEXT - Lines- and assign the lines that this group should answer. Also set the mode to broadcast if you want all phones to ring, or sequential, or round robin at whatever number of rings. Also set up an overflow to an extension that does not belong to the group. Remember that hunt group programming overrides station programming, so if the ext is set to go to VM it won't anymore if the hunt group rings.
Then set the night service under SERVICES - SHOW - RINGING SERVICE - SHOW - RING GROUPS - 01 - Add the extension you want to ring at night here. Then go to Schedules and set to either manual switchover (F871), or auto with the times for day and night.

Good luck
