Hello!

Is there any way to setup the Operator Console's "Night" button to direct all incoming calls to the auto-attendant?

Avaya is saying that this can't be done, but I'm really not understanding why it couldn't be done.

Phone switch is a G3siV6, voicemail is Audix.

I am assuming you want the main DID of your compnay to go to night service. Do a cha listed directory numbers. Add your Main number and set the Night service to your main Audix Hunt group number. Then go into Audix and setup your main number as a auto-attendant. Page two and three are where the magic happens. Not sure what you want to do after that but make sure you record a main greeting.

OK, bear with me for a little bit here, since I don't normally handle this stuff, and haven't been officially trained on this.

When I do a "change listed-directory-numbers" command, I get the following display:

LISTED DIRECTORY NUMBERS

Night Destination: 3551

Ext Name TN
1: 6499 800.422.7050 1
2: 3200 Audix 0 Out 1
3: 1
4: 1
5: 1
6: 1
7: 1
8: 1

The 800 number is our 800 number, but I can't display station 6499 - it gives me the error "Extension exists but assigned to a different object"

3200 is the covering Audix extension, I believe, but when trying to display it, I Get the same "Extension exists" error.

3200 should be in place where 3551 is. In audix set 6499 up as a 'Attendant'. What is 3551? If you dial it does it have a announcement? On the third page of 6499 is where you set up your features...i.e. "hit 1 for sales, 2 for lawn care, 3 for radiator service." You would have to record the announcement for 6499 as so.

OK, so if I already have an attendant like that setup on x1410, could I replace 6499 with 1410?

Here's the goofy part - we have two different incoming numbers - one is the 800 number listed above, the other is a local access number.

Neither numbers are in the switch dialplan.

x3551 there is our Security office, which is where night calls currently go.

Put all your numbers you want to go to night in the LDN. The 800 and local access (6499) Copy the settings of 1410 attendant to 6499. The 800 points to a local DID right? That may be helpful to know if your switch only looks for that DID.

Oy...

I don't have any clue what 6499 is...

Here's how things are:

503-371-0041 is our local number.
800-422-7050 is our 800 number.

The actual Auto Attendant in Audix is setup on subscriber number 0041, but is accessed by dialing 1410 (0041 isn't in the dialplan).

Unfortunately, we've had about 3 different people, from either Expanets or Avaya dialing in to work on this, and none of them seem to know what they're doing (no offense if any of you work for either of these companies - I'd just expect a tech that's being paid to set this up could have had it done 3-4 weeks ago when we began this).

For our other site (located about 10 miles away), they appear to have had the telco "pulse" the dial-in number to a DID on our switch of 2598, which then goes to the AA setup on subscriber number 0678 (the last four digits of the dial-in for that site).

This completely bypasses the operator console, so apparently the only way to get calls back to the op console is to "unpulse" that number.

That site is closing in a year or less, so I'm not too worried about it, but I don't want things like that here - nor does the operator. She wants to be able turn off the direct to the auto attendant and manually take calls when neccessary.

How can I find out what 6499 is?

What extentions answer 503-371-0041 and 800-422-7050? Put those in the listed directory numbers. Put 1410 as the night service. I wonder if you can add the 503 and 800 #'s to your trunk grp and hae them point to a DID.

The console answers those extensions...

As far as I knew, the console was "0", so I dunno...

How do I determine this?

What do your trunk groups look like? Are they digital or analog? Looks to me like 0041 may be a DID that is translated to 1410 in the incoming call treatment of the trunk group (assuming its digital). If so you can handle the nights right there. In such a case you would point it to zero during the day.

OK, we have 6 trunk groups.

How do I determine if it's a digital or analog?

Also, is there an easy way to dump a listing to a text file or something in Terranova for an easy cut/paste here?

Thanks!

Since you guys are on the subject of night service, I have a question about it.

When will a call go to its night service destination in the station form? For example, I have a hunt group with a night service destination, when the console is on night for that hunt group it doesnt go to the extension in the hunt destination field, it goes to voicemail for the extension of the hunt group.

Hey, thank you all for your help, but people higher than myself refused to listen to intelligence, and instead screwed all kinds of things up with their "solution", so I guess I'm done with this subject.

It did help me learn quite a bit, so thank you all VERY VERY much!

There is no one higher than myself :)
