Nice SC - TSM backup problem

Hi all,

we have nicestorage server (v8.9) who is doing backup via tsm api.
client is limited to TSM-Client (API) 5.3.0.0 (nice doesn't support higher rel.), and server is TSM Server 5.4.3.0 AIX 5.3.

problem is with high number of session left on TSM server(around 60) after backup finishes.

hi nice storage center 8.9 now supports 5.5 tsm.

Can you explain in more detail your problem is it that there is a backlog on storage center when archiving to tsm ?

O, that is good news. Didn't know that, since last time a tech supp from nice connected to our StorageCenter, he downgraded TSM client to 5.3.00 - wich i don't know why.
Maybe we have an old version of 8.9.

Yes there is logg on SC, i could post a part of it for you to see.

Also what is network speed set on SC 100/full ?

It was auto/auto, i set it on 100/full.

ok, what do you suggest, where i can find this sp5 and could it be rolled back?
also what do you think will it work ok with rest of the servers ( cls and logger ). how to see what version they have. tnx.

ok. lets see how it does since network change. how often is task set to run?

Do you also have lots of groups with different retention period or just loads of groups ?

Task is set to run every 2 hrs.

Retention period under niceSC administrator is not checked (the greyed numbers are 365).

I don't understand the question, you mean groups on tsm server or niceSC?
If you mean on niceSC, this is only one task to do every 2hrs.
Also it is good to mention, the tsm guy from storage forum advised to go with setting on tsm server -->

is there a reason every 2 hrs does it hog bandwidth, what the average number of calls per day.the minimum setting for a task is to run every 10 mins.

By groups in nice administrator do you have loads of groups and is the sc task set to archive these groups or is it a blanket task. on the task u have a groups option is anything selected. with regard to retention on the task is a force delete retention set how long u keeping calls.

There was 1 time a day backup before, this (2hrs) is only a try to see if it will change number of sessions. What do you suggest to lower it or put it on once a day?

Average no. of calls are 900-1100 per day, with 1500-2000 minutes of call duration.

I have only one group that has 32 agents. SC task is set to archive this group, under agents tab there is also "fixed sitting" mark. Under storage tab, member storages is also only one group. ESM tab is set to move to esm with immediate migration. Retention is not set at all.
