We recently changed out an Avaya CM with an Avya IP500 (downsizing). We had installed a NICE secure recording system 6 months ago recording 24 digital ports on the CM. Ever since we placed the IP500 into service, the recordings have major static on most recorded calls. We have confirmed that the PRI's are ok, we re-checked the grounding, reworked the cabling for the bridged connections between the digital sets and the NICE interface, verified and moved cables that were close to power, to no avail. Note that we reused the 2410/2420 telsets that were working with the ACM. Also, our NICE vendor has done test and says it is not their interface board. Help!!!!

Sounds like a compatability issue with the digital interface, it doesn't work the same as CM. For example you can't use a digital Polycom sounstation on an IP Office but you can on the CM/Definity systems, does it all sound ok to the handset and third party? If so I don't think there is much you can do other than what you have already tried, except getting them to confirm compatability with IP Office :)

The nice works by creating virtual ip endpoints for every recorded station and then conferencing in on the calls so it's probably the usual conferencing poor quality issue that effects contactstore.

ACS - IP Telephony + IP Office
ACA - Too many to remember
ACSS - Would do it but i don't get a free TShirt anymore!

If it created virtual endpoints why would they need the bridged digital connections? Surely that is to provide the audio path rather than a conference? Not saying you are wrong but that's an odd way to work it :)

Well noted... I only worked/trained on the VOIP Nice call recorder.

Thanks for the responses...all of you. This application uses the digtial interface..I have worked with the IP endpoint interface with now issues. Although NICE says they are compatable with the IP500 digital ports, I suspect this is the issue. At this time they do not make a different interface for the ACM and the IP500. This has been escalated to NICE upper Tier engineers, did remote testing and they say the interface is good...they have now escalated again.

I am just an old telephone guy, practicing trouble shooting 101, and know that you never say it is not my problem. I like to work the issue, changing all components that I can. I am down to the IP500 and the NICE interface card. They are reluctant to changing the interface card.

Again, thank you all for your timely response.

What software version is the ipo and the modules?

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Release is 6.1 using digital 30 modules, total of 8..the 24 extensions being recorded are spread across the 8 modules.

I neglected to say that phone calls are fine, no static, just on the recordings.

Any DS16v2 or DS30v2 modules?
I think so.
Are they upgraded to 3.2.999 first and then to 6.1?
If not then do that first and then try again.
Maybe not the problem but you need to do that anyway.
