I posted this in another forum but ill try here. I am trying to learn more about NIC teaming and see if it is possible to write my own software to handle it. Fault tolerance is my main objective. Currently I use a router which is connected to two Gigabit ethernet switches. I would like to do away with the router and use two NIC cards to connect directly to the GigE switches. However, I need to have one IP address for the computer so the two NIC cards would need to share that IP. If there are any suggestions, sites, or books please let me know. We are running Windows 2K Pro.

I am looking to write a similar routine on my own. If you find any good references to help create our own Virtual Nic let me know. Also, you may want to look at a few commercial products like AEI Intelligent Technologies. Here is a link.
