I have just configured a nic team with 2 Gigabit ports on a Poweredge 2650 using BACS. They are both connected to a Cisco switch which is configured for lacp Gigabit etherchannel. Everything seems to be configured properly on the switch as when we test we get load-balanced the way we expect it (source mac address). My problem is we cannot get more than 1 Gbps total. In Windows' Task Manager networking tab should we not see 2 Gbps total ? Also we can tell it doesn't go over 1 Gbps because we have made iperf tests simultaneously from different sources directed to both cards. Both interfaces we're recieving packets but always totaling slightly around 900 Mbps. I'm clueless right now.

thanks

Re: the multiple sources you're using - are they plugged directly into the same switch that the target server is on?

IE, any chance your topology is placing all sources on the same Gig link somewhere upstream?

Both are connected to the same switch stack. I do not believe it is possible to have an etherchannel across multiple switches. the Uplink is 2 Gbps but in any case it should not have any effect on the team. On the switch I see BW 2000000 Kbit but in Windows it only reports 1Gbps. This has been tested on 2 servers with same results.
