I have had the problem twice now about 7 days apart. The gigabit card in my Compaq Proliant ML530 G2 server has simply switched from ENABLED to DISABLED. Abosolutely nothing logged in the event logs to indicate there is a problem with the NIC. All I do to correct it is right click the NIC and select ENABLE. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

It's Windows 2000 Server running on a Compaq Proliant ML530 G2. The card is a Compaq NC6136 Gigabit server adapter.

I think the problem was the NIC itself. We swapped it and haven't had any further issues. The reason I wasn't sure it was the card was it only disabled itself a couple of times over a 3 week period. I kinda thought if the NIC went bad it would just die.

Thanks,
Mike
