We have a Metaframe XP server and using NFuse Classic 1.7. Everything was going great till now. When the users sign on to NFuse and try to access an application they get a message. Unable to connect to server,server not configured for Citrix. I am stumped with this problem. I have looked every where for the solution but haven't found it. Can anyone please offer me some good help with this? Very much appreciated.

Is that (ie "Unable to connect to server,server not configured for Citrix") the exact error message? Otherwise, perhaps this might be covered by faq48-3647

Cheers

Yes, this is the exact message. We are running Metaframe XP on a Windows 2000 Server. All of the service packs have been installed. We can login into the NFuse site but when we try to launch an application we get the error. Thank You For Your Help. I hope this info is of greater help. Everything was going well till now.

Can you post the content of the following lines in your nfuse.conf file:

SessionField.NFuse_CitrixServer=
AlternateAddress=
AddressResolutionType=
ClientAddressMap=

Here is what was requested of the nfuse.conf.

SessionField.NFuse_CitrixServer=localhost
AlternateAddress=Mapped
AddressResolutionType=IPv4-port
ClientAddressMap=*,Translated

I really hope this helps. Thank You So Much.

SessionField.NFuse_CitrixServer=localhost
AddressResolutionType=IPv4-port
ClientAddressMap=*,Translated

Change localhost to the real servername or ip adres, chnage IPv4-port to just IPv4, and to an iisreset to load the changes into memory.

I have not yet seen the *,Translated option; can you describe your ip mapping/translation setup?

Our ServerAddressMap=Private IP Address:1494,Public IP Address:1494. We are Natting. We have two Nic's. They both have a private IP Address but we have one natted in the router. So, the alternate address is mapped. I hope I have explained what you wanted. Thank You So Very Much For Your Wonderful Expertise. I wiil try what you have suggested so far and let you know how things go. If you are a father I hope you had a Very Wonderful Fathers Day.

Oh boy, a multihomed server. Nice chalange.

Drop the 1494/1494 mapping. It's not needed; the router is already doing the translation. Just activate the altaddr on the correct NIC; using the altaddr /set xxxx yyyy (where x is interal ip, and y is public ip).
Give the external mapped nic a gateway, and make sure the other one does not have a default gateway.
Then check the binding setup, that the one with the gateway is on top.
Then make sure NFuse is configured correctly for this setup.

Using a multihomed setup together with NAT is quite complex, so is there is any chnage that you can drop the second NIC, then life would be much easier.
(do you really need to run 2 different subnets on this server?)
