I used RHEL 4 and nfslock started succesfully everytime.
Installed nfs-utils-1.0.6-93.EL4 and attached NAS
But sometimes I got error mesg below here :
lockd: cannot monitor 100.101.102.22
lockd: failed to monitor 100.101.102.22
nsm_mon_unmon: rpc failed, status=-96
That error mesg caused the application thru network can't work well.
I should restart nfslock manually and will clear the error mesg from dmesg. The application will work again.
Any advice to solve this problem.
Thanks

Is your network healthy and reliable?

What kind of NAS filer is it? Does it have a log that you know of? If so, have you checked it for corresponding problems at the same time (network or CPU or anything else)?

Have you double-checked things like duplex settings?

Does it happen randomly or only under heavy I/O load?

If everything around it looks fine, I'd be contacting the NAS filer's technical support and complaining that their NFS lock daemon is not responding from time to time. It would probably help if you could demonstrate the problem from more than one NFS client.

Network is healthy and reliable.
Did you use this nfs-utils-1.0.6-93.EL4 packages before ?
I didn't hava this problem before I updated nfs-utils
Or I should downgrade nfs-utils package.
Thanks

No, we seem to have -84.EL4 on all our systems. Try downgrading again I guess and see if the problem goes away.
