a dedicated nfs server (uw7.1.1) is shared by
2 systems (1: uw7.1.1, 2: os5.0.4+patches)

the problem is that open server client is very lent over nfs
when unixware is just fine (especially write operations)

both clients are in the same conditions!
nework itself and interfaces are ok

nfs server is tuned very well,
and actually there is no esential load
to blame on it

well, at least let me know if ur are using open server nfs client with unixware nfs server

I'm trying to figure out what you mean by:
"is very lent over nfs"

oh, sorry
I mean
write operations from openserver client to unixware nfs server take twice as long as from unixware client to unixware nfs server

Have you checked the network speed between your openserver and unixware boxes? One way to do this is to ftp a file from/to openserver/unixware box. ftp will tell you the network speed it took to download/upload the file after it has done so.

If the speed is less than desirable, check things like wether the NIC is set to auto-neg., 100Mb as opposed to 10Mb, full duplex as opposed to half, etc...

yes of course I had checked ftp transfer as well as rcp.
the same speed

if it was so obvious I would not have posted my question here ; )

p.s.
also I've already played with all possible mount options.
no luck

any ideas?
