NFS with NIS or LDAP

Hi,

[ponder] I'm debating myself if I should use NIS or LDAP with NFS. It's going to be on an (OS-RH 4 ES) Email server, so I like to be secure as impossible. I like a recommendation on simple yet secure method for managing users across the network.

Don't use NIS if you are in any way bothered by security. Encrypted passwords are sent plaintext over the network with NIS and can be sniffed and put through a dictionary cracker.

LDAP over SSL or TLS is probably best to go for.
