NFS to Linux(suse) for Backup purposes

HI,

We have 2 Linux (suse) boxes that NFS & mount to each other with no problems. What's proving more difficult is getting our RS6000 (v4.3.3) boxes to mount the Linux boxes. I tried changing the NFS type from 3 to 2 with no joy. Any ideas?

Hi

I have had a similar promlem with redhat:
( Linux as server, workstation AIX as clients)

I have not the Linux now in my hands, but, if I remember, you can use default values in client-AIX ( will be used
version 3 and TCP protocol).

Changes from default, you have to set in exported directory on server :

if there is a flag about "insecure port", you have to
allow server to listen to this insecure ports.

Useful tools:

from client AIX

#showmount -e LinuxServer
#nfsstat -m

Thanks Victorv, but I've just come across a fix,

Adding :

nfso -o nfs_use_reserved_ports=1

to the end of rc.tcpip will force it to use reserved ports again.
